I'm very happy with these mills. I purchased the salt grinder and similar pepper grinder. The craftsmanship and design are excellent. Cole & Mason have smartly equipped the salt grinder with ceramic grinder component, while the pepper grinder has a steel mechanism. I've had other grinders with metal grinding mill. The salt really corrodes the metal after a couple of years. Ceramic is correct for salt and steel more suited for peppercorns that contain oils. The feel and weight of these mills are great. The adjustment knob on top works well allowing a hefty dose of salt while cooking and also a very fine grind suitable for popcorn. The pepper mill works just as well. The finish paint job is excellent. They have a high gloss luster and seem they will prove quite durable. I highly recommend these mills. They are a good value.Love this salt grinder. We recently remodeled our kitchen and I needed new grinders. I wanted white ones that were the same quality as my older ones. I searched everywhere and could only find plastic ones that looked cheap. These are wood and look perfect in my kitchen. I’ve had them a couple of weeks now and they work as good if not better than my older set. My only concern was I wanted both salt and pepper to set out on my counter and these did not come with a holder. Grinders always leave a residue after use. These have very little which was very pleasing. I ended up finding a small dish to use and they look perfect. Couldn’t be happier with the performance and appearance.I got this salt grinder in white and the pepper grinder in black. Love the look and knowing which is which. They both function beautifully. However, the salt grinder leaves salt all over the place. Even when you give it a few good taps before setting it down, I still end up with salt all over the counter. Letting my husband or any guests use it just leaves piles of salt everywhere! I’ll be looking at a different Cole & Mason set that doesn’t grind from the bottom.I purchased the salt and pepper version of this pepper mill.While the one for pepper is grinding a little to fine and slowly, the salt one is doing the exact opposite and the first dish I used this for was way too salty to even eat.I bought them mainly because I really liked the look of it but now really enjoy them.You will have to refill them quite often as they only fit about a quarter cup of salt/ pepper.I was really excited to get this product. I'm trying to adult in my kitchen and I thought getting an actually mill might be nice. To note, I actually used this mill for salt instead of pepper. Overall, the quality is decent. It grinds salt pretty well. The material is a bit cheap but usable. I did notice that the grinder handle tends to get loose no matter how many times I tighten it.I received this salt grinder with the pepper grinder for my birthday. After using for several months, I am very happy with both of them. They are very beautiful, easy to use, and adjustable. We can easily adjust the size of the output by turning the knob on top. They are also easy to fill, just unscrew the top, fill, and replace. They hold enough for a week or two while not being so large as to be difficult to handle, even with small hands.Grinder looked nice, and I wanted to go with white , but it is only 6 inches tall , not the 6.5 in the description , did not match the 6.5 inch tall pepper mill I had previously bought.I returned it and will try a different item .Classic design. However, the red is much more primary colored than the picture shows. Maybe it's just my monitor but I think a more accurate picture could be posted.No es el primer molino COLE AND MASON que compro, tengo 3 (dos para pimienta) y éste venía indicado para moler sal de grano y para eso lo utilizo. La única diferencia que le veo con los otros que ya compré es que tienen el contra molino y el sujetador de plástico, pero no se nota frágil ni desmerece/afecta en lo absoluto su funcionamiento.Works fine. Sleek clean look and a good size. I won't have to be refilling it constantly. I took off one star because there are 2 marks on the top bulby part. They don't affect the performance at all, but they don't wipe off so it doesn't look as nice as something should when it's brand new.La verdad tenía expectativas con este producto... Pensé que un pimentero blanco podía verse cool. Funciona bien pero para ser nuevo esperaba mejores acabados. Entiendo q es de madera pintada de blanco pero no debería estar así. Creo q es mejor quedarse con los tradicionales de madera.Si necesitas mucha sal, es difícil que el tornillo se quede en el mismo lugar todo el tiempo para obtener un molino estable, pero es común en este tipo de molinos, es muy suave su funcionamiento y tiene buen agarreItem is great, but has scratches on possibly from shipping :(Update: paint chips at the bottom after a while from use. It’s good to use small plate underneath because salt and pepper falls out and makes mess in the counter.
