TIMEMORE Chestnut Slim plus Manual Coffee Grinder Capacity 20g with Stainless Steel E&B Burr Internal Adjustable Setting, Double Bearing Positioning (Slim Plus)
【NEWLY DEVELOPED 「E&B」STAINLESS STEEL BLADE】 「E&B」is short for 「Espresso and Brewing」which means the burrs could fit to any conditions from Turkish fine to Chemex coarse. The「E&B」blade improves the grinding efficiency so that the coffee grinder can grind 20 grams of espresso coffee in less than 2 minutes of low-effort cranking easily.
【COMPACT ENOUGH TO OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES】 As the name suggests,Slim Plus coffee grinder has a slim figure which make it fairly compact and portable. In addition, it is equipped with a detachable handle and canvas carrying bag for outdoor scenes such as camping.
【ALUMINUM ALLOY BODY WITH ADVANCED TEXTURE】The surface of the aluminum alloy body has a diamond pattern, which is a reason for easy-to-grip and not leave fingerprints. The coffee grinder is equipped with a detachable handle, and comes with a cleaning brush and a canvas carrying bag. The body and internal bearings are cut from a single piece of aluminum alloy, which reduces the cracks caused by assembly and makes the grinder sturdy and durable.
【 LABOR-SAVING WHILE GRIND SUPER SMOOTHLY】 The sharp and high hardness stainless steel blade, the easy-to-apply force long handle structure(long enough for extra leverage), the easy-to-grip by one hand slim body and non-slip design of the diamond pattern on the surface of the body all achieve excellent labor saving. The coffee grinder grinds so smoothly that even if you release your hand, the handle can continue to rotate for a period of time.
【ROUGHNESS ADJUSTMENT FUNCTION】 Slim Plus coffee grinder comes with a 36 grind range adjustment dial, which can be set for grind go from very fine to very coarse and give you the ability to explore a variety of brewing methods (espresso, pour over, french press, automatic brewers etc.).You can record the suitable grinding degree of different coffee beans or different degree of roasting, and then you can reproduce the same delicious coffee by selecting the same grinding degree.
I’ve used this thing as a espresso daily grinder for months and it’s been fantastic. Even used the bottom cap as a tamp when in a pinch or traveling.Noticeably superior to my other, less expensive Timeore with plastic parts. The knurling is fantastic, fit & finish are top notch, and the burr set keeps ticking at espresso grind size without missing a beat.Get this one, you won’t be disappointed!(Note: capacity is 20g and not a bean more.)I really wanted to like this grinder, but it simply did not work for courser settings (details below). In summary, this would be a great grinder if you only need the first 30 settings (e.g. size for a pourover or finer), but not an appropriate grinder if you use a french press.Pros:- It's actually quite slim and small while not sacrificing hopper capacity so it would be great for traveling.- The texture of the outside also feels really nice and gives you a great grip while grinding.- The grind adjustment switch at the bottom of the grinder turns and clicks really well, especially compared to my previous Porlex mini. It's a bit of a bummer that there are not notations on the bottom so you still have to "count the clicks" when changing sizes, though at least the solid adjuster quality makes it easy to tell when you have adjusted by a click.- The grinding process itself is actually very nice. The bearings are high quality and there isn't a lot of catching while grinding. The hand crank knob also feels nice in the hand.Cons:- The stainless steel burrs have a lot of static after grinding, resulting in a lot of fine grinds that you have to get out with a brush. This is not unique to this grinder and is just a characteristic of stainless steel burrs, but it caught me off guard having come from a ceramic burr grinder (Porlex mini). Something to consider if you are considering a ceramic burr set as an alternative.- This grinder advertises that it works for 40 clicks, but in actuality it doesn't work past click 30 or so. I wanted a very course grind for my french press, but the grinds get stuck in the grinder and don't advance to the hopper. As a result, the coffee just stops grinding. When I measured out my coffee, I found that the Timemore was only able to grind 2 grams out of the 20 grams I put in before no longer working and having to be cleaned out. I thought this was a defective unit so I got a replacement but had the same issue. This grinder simply does not work past 30 clicks, which you will probably need for a french press. The company should not advertise that it goes to 40 clicks when its effective range is 30. Now that I have all but abandoned my french press in favor of a metal filter for the V60 which requires a fine grind, this wouldn't have been a problem, but too late now.I ended up getting the 1ZPresso JX-Pro which is alright. Still has the static from stainless steel burrs which is annoying and it's also extremely large and bulky compared to the Timemore Slim and the Porlex Mini, but at least it works properly.Had to dial up to 9 because lower levels are to fine even for expresso, which makes it so good)An excellent grinder with amazing build quality. Produces a nice even grind. I do not know if this will grind for espresso, as I only use it for moka pot and french press.Very good quality. Love this productFor everything this grinder powers through fast.Do note that espresso grind takes longer and is harder than other grinds. My wife dislike grinding for espresso. I don't mind.Does not work well for left handed people. It looks fantastic, grinds fast, and makes great cups of coffee.I originally purchased this as a replacement for my other hand grinder as my previous one couldn't grind fine enough for espresso. This is my only grinder, I don't mind grinding by hand even in the morning at 5am. I mainly use for espresso, filter coffe (V60), Aeropress and Moka Pot; occasionally French Press.Pros:- E&b burrs. Stainless steel burrs made for both espresso and brewing. really really fast, especially for espresso! around ~30-45 seconds for ~14-16g of coffee and ~20-30 seconds for 20g of coffee for my v60.- Really good built quality, all metal!- It fits right inside the aeropress plunger, which makes it perfect for traveling.- the funnel I use on my flair signature fits right on top of this grinder which makes loading the beans easier.Cons:- stepped grinder. Although the settings work for me and I can still dial in the different coffees on my flair, I can see this being a con for those who have a higher end espresso maker.- The burrs. If you don't need this for espresso I would recommend purchasing the Chestnut slim (not the plus) instead. It has a regular ss burr which works better for filter coffee and creates slightly less fines. But I'm nit picking at this point.- capacity. You can only grind up to 20g I'd say, at the time.- the wooden knob. After a while you get used to the movement, but in the beginning, when grinding the knob can come out. It's magnetically attached to it so it's not broken but it can be annoying.Overall, this grinder really works for me. I've been using it for 5 months now, every day for multiple people, sometimes multiple times a day. Highly recommended!I have been using the timemore nano grinder for the past 12 months primarily for espresso. Unfortunately while an excellent size and form for travel (not much of that in the COVID era), it only accepts 15gm of coffee, when I need 18+. Therefore I need to grind and refill to produce the amount of coffee required. The slim plus, overcomes to volume problem and the E&B burr, which is designed for espresso, the should be an excellent replacementEl molino es excelente se adapta completamente a mis necesidades, una molienda adecuada para para metodos de extraccion (Brew bar) siendo asi bastante homogénea y consistente.
