My wife loves plants and is always tending to them. She loves this sign, but we are hesitant to put it outside since it is made of particle board. The listing says it has "water proof effect", but we're not ready to test that. The front of the sign has a sheen to it so it may be coated with something to help keep water out. The edges are a flat black color so again there may be something to help with water, but the back of the sign does not appear to have anything on it. For now it is hanging inside the house.
