I had pretty much given up on finding a decent 6” bench grinder in the $100-$160 range when I stumbled across the Palmgren brand. Palmgren’s marketing department must not have heard of the internet yet because it is flat difficult to find information but the information I did find indicated that for a few dollars more this product seemed to not have the quality and design compromises competing Wen, Dewalt, Craftsman, etc models seemed to have. Finding no reviews on Amazon or elsewhere I took the plunge fully expecting to return the unit.Instead, here is what I got:- nice looking product with great fit and finish;- grinding stones visibly out of round but grinder runs smoothly with no hint of grinder vibration though eye shield mounting bracket buzzes a bit.- acceptable tool rests; not great but not bad st all.- eye shield setup that is a little cheesy but works well enough. I did have to strategically apply vinyl tape between shield brackets and grinder housing to quell annoying little vibration within shield mount system. Perhaps caused by our od round grinding stones. I need to buy dressing tool for the stones I suppose.- at 1/3 hp was expecting serious lack of staying power but no hint in during sharpening of various blades, hoes, axe etc. put it to test on a heavy steel digging bar and while I can slow wheel down significantly the amount of force it takes is impressive. I am thoroughly happy with the power this delivers. The capacitor blah blah in the description must be the real deal.- comes with coarse-ish and fine-ish wheels.- plenty wide enough to get wide items to the wheels.—- the connection for shop vac is nice touch but haven’t used it yet. Seems well executed.Glad I took the risk and bought the thing.
