I've been using Himalayan salt for cooking and bathing for several years but I had never tried the larger granules until now. It can be used similarly to kosher salt in cooking or sprinkled on a steak but it's not really good for using as you would smaller granules. However, it can be put in a grinder and ground to be the size that can be used at the table. I think the flavor of Himalayan salt is superior to every other salt I've tried, even the French and Irish salts that are quite pricey. One of the advantages of Himalayan salt is the abundance of minerals it contains and the lack of processing. It is simply mined and packaged, not taken from the ocean, dried, adulterated to keep it from caking then packaged. Much closer to nature.
