This thing is CHONKY, I mean that in a good way. I've had it for several months and its very comfortable in the hand and feels hefty. If you placed this on your desk it would sit after a pretty dense thud. Weight is great when your pressing coffee and this one fits my espresso machine perfectly. Its a breeze to clean and it does actually come apart if you needed to deep clean it. You twist the bottom from the top and it splits into two separate pieces held together by a thick screw. Overall I really liked this purchase and would buy it again. My one small complaint is that the flat side isn't perfectly flat, the machining left very small nicks or kinks in the metal that you can feel if you run your finger over them, however they wont scratch or cut or anything so its mostly just something that is a slight annoyance but it will not impede your use. I'd recommend it for sure to anyone who's looking for this product.
