I have 3 mutts and struggle with this doggie-parent responsibility. No one will sit still for a regular nail trim...and I admit I am not very good at it. This new tool has made the chore less daunting. I also constructed a rudimentary "sling" to pull the smaller dogs off the ground so they couldn't run away (much thanks to YouTube). On the first use, naturally I had a lot of paw-pulling as they tried to dissuade me once again not to trim their claws. But it wasn't an option because they were reaching an unhealthy length...and by the 4th paw, they'd realized it didn't hurt...just smelled a bit funny. At one point, fur got wrapped around the spindle but the device stopped automatically and I was able to pop off the grinding guide and easily release the fur. Might be helpful to trim the dogs paws first next time. I gave lots of positive reinforcement along the way and afterwards, as I don't want them to run when they see the sling come out next time. This will be a process over the next several weeks but I am very happy I bought this remarkable little tool. Although I used it outside during daylight, I think the light will be handy in future. It had a 70% charge right out of the box and did not reduce through 2 introductory sessions. I think it's going to make this part of being a responsible dog parent much easier! My Pompom does not hold still when trying to clip her nails. I believe her last experience with the groomer has changed her positive experience to a negative one. She used to let me clip her nails prior to me sending her to the groomer. With this nail grinder I can put her on my lap and slowly grind away. I hope I can purchase replacement grinding wheels when this one wears down.Way easier to manage then clipping, should have done this a long time ago. This grinds the small nails on my two terriers. Not too loud and the light is a great addition.Super easy to use!My cat it's extremely scared of it and my dogs hate it. It scares them all. I don't know if it's the sound or what, but the cat scratched me and my daughter all up trying to get away from it. He prefers i trim them with the fingernail clippers, he sits still when i do it that way, but for this, he tries to run far away. I didn't think it was that loud, but something about the sound, they hate it.Not a good choice to choose as a Dog Nail Grinder. Takes longer. Needs to be more power or more speed. Slower.More bulky than other ones I have used. Soynd is quieter which helps as my pup gets frightened when I do his nails
