Once the top is twisted down to initially break and crush pills, a simple reverse twist then slight pressure on the top allows the grinding surface to freely spin similar to a pepper grinder. Exclusive Top Down Crushing into Serving Cup If you continue to free spin the MAXGRIND in the upright position after crushing is complete, air will circulate within the crusher and blow the remaining powder into the bottom cup. This will result in minimal medication remaining on the grinding surface and in the crushing well. A clear, snap-on serving cup allows easy viewing and collection of crushed medication, so you can easily check the progress. Less Residue Left Behind Due to Smart Design Ridges on the grinding surface provide fast, dual-action. Our smart grinder is also able to crush multiple pills at once with minimal effort. HOW TO USE: Step 1 Remove the top and place pill(s) into the well. Replace the top and continue to twist until you feel the top starting to tighten. Twist clockwise until you feel the initial crush/ breaking of pills. Step 2 After the initial crush, turn a slight twist counterclockwise into a free spin mode where grinding will start. Now with slight pressure on the top twist the crusher back and forth like a pepper grinder. Step 3 The powder will sift into the bottom cup. When crushing is completed, you will notice a change in the crusher tone. For best results, continue to free spin for air to sift any remains. Remove bottom cup. Optional If you prefer to use your own 30 ml disposable plastic cup, place it in the clear bottom cup before grinding and follow steps 1 to 3. You can then remove the disposable cup and administer the dose. Sturdy construction for everyday use. HOW TO SPLIT A PILL: STEP 1 Place the splitter on a solid, flat surface. Open the splitter lid and insert a pill into the U-shaped holder. The rubber insert lining will help keep the pill in place during splitting. The guard covers the blade to protect your fingers. STEP 2 Once your pill is in position, find the area with small ridges towards the end of the lid and press on it lightly. The blade guard that conceals the sharp blade will retract it once the lid is closed. STEP 3 Once you split the pill, open the lid and easily remove it. This way, you can split pills of various shapes, sizes, and thicknesses. When you're done, wash in warm water, careful not to directly contact the sharp blade. HOW TO PUNCH A PILL: STEP 1 Place the splitter on a solid, flat surface. Open the splitter lid and place the blister pack pill side up, centered over the keyhole. STEP 2 Once in position, close the lid and apply slight pressure on the ridged area to push the pill through the blister pack. STEP 3 The pill will be punched out of the blister, through the keyhole into the compartment. Remove the empty blister package. STEP 4 Some packages require more pressure. To remove the pill from the compartment, open the bottom compartment cover.
